NOTICES AND CONTACT INFO

Notices will be sent out via email (with a few exceptions) to the email provided at registration.

Please notify the office immediately should your personal information change. Please be sure to add us to your contacts as we use a server as well as mailchimp to send emails.

WAITING ROOM POLICY

The waiting room is designed for students as a transition space between classes. There is not a surplus of space. For the younger classes (6&under) we understand if you wait in case your help is required, (i.e. bathroom trips)

LOST AND FOUND

There is a lost and found bin located in the waiting room. Please know IDA is not responsible for lost or stolen items that are left in the waiting room. We encourage you to leave your valuables at home.

PARKING

To ease parking congestion, we ask that you drop off and pick up your dancer instead of waiting and/or parking. Please be considerate of other businesses as this is a shared parking lot. There is no parking in front of the building.

SCHOOL EXAMS / ASSESSMENTS

In March we offer optional exams at all levels (except for Storybook and Preschool). Exams take place outside of regular class time so it does not affect the children who are not participating. The examiner will be a qualified dance instructor who understands the capabilites of all age groups. The dancers receive a graded certificate and a report form, where written feedback is provided.

Exams/Assessments provide motivation and an important incentive for children to work hard. Successful completion builds confidence and develops abilities. The younger children start taking exams, the better they tend to deal with stress. Exam fees will range from $40-50.

More information will be sent out in January.

There will be no refunds given for half months. For example, if you quit mid month, the next month’s payment will be taken and you will be entitled to continue until the end of the month.

After the final payment, the payors information will be deleted from our baking system. Please know that the fees for January onwards are non refundable.

DANCE THEATRE (Performance Group)

Dance Theatre is designed for children who want to gain extra performing experience and a broader knowledge of dance and its various styles. As we are a non-competitive studio, this dance company offers more serious dancers the chance to increase their skill and be exposed to new and different styles of dance.

The company often does theatre trips and workshops. It is required that students take a minimum of ballet and jazz to be in Dance Theatre, though all other disciplines are recommended.

We prepare shows at Christmas time and in June. Students must have been dancing with our school for a minimum of 1 year in Ballet and Jazz, be at least seven years old and have shown dedication in their attendance and attitude. Most importantly we are aiming to develop team spirit and hope that children will form long lasting friendships within the group.

Information is available upon request.
